Becnicks Wonder-Emporium and Atlas Twins

Today (Thursday 28th June 2012) will be the launch party for my new solo exhibition, called 'Above Reality', and which is now currently on display in Becnicks Wonder-Emporium vintage shop. The late night launch will start at 5pm and finish at 8.30pm.

I had some great news last night as the band 'Atlas Twins' will now also be performing a live set in Becnicks during the launch party! You can read about their music and listen to their songs here: http://www.facebook.com/atlastwins

This is a really nice cover of Julie London's 'Cry me a River' they've filmed themselves singing:

Yesterday morning and afternoon I put the exhibition work up on the walls with the fantastic help of photographer Mike HughesHere are some photos we took whilst putting up the new exhibition display:

Singletrack Magazine Illustration

Last month I created a colourful and slightly humorous illustration for Singletrack Mountain Bike Magazine. The brief was to create an illustration to  accompany a fitness based Q&A article - the question which had been posed to their fitness experts from one of their readers. The finished illustration (which you can see below) was published in the current issue - number 74. If you'd like to read the magazine online you can purchase it here: http://singletrackworld.com/magarchive/issue-74/#formats It's also available to buy in print from most high street magazine stores.

Here are some photos I took whilst drawing the illustration so you can see the image sketched out first in pencil...

I then later penned the drawing in with black fine liner...

I lastly scanned the drawing and added colour and extra detail on the computer. This is the finished illustration:

Hand Painted Shoes

Over the past few years I've been creating one-of-a-kind hand painted and customised shoes in all sorts of styles, and with various different fabric pens, felt, crayons and paints. I have now started to sell these online, some of which you can see in the links below, and onsale in my Esy shop: http://www.NightowlSecrets.co.uk

If you are interested in buying any of the shoes from me, or commissioning a new design for yourself/a friend/client, please email me at: hello[at]nikkipinder[dot]co[dot]uk.

Here are links to buy three different pairs of shoes out of the collection:
